Going more into that fire vs ice thing I was mentioning yesterday on Alder's blog,
fire also represents change. everything has heat inside of it, but the slower the heat is, the lesser the change.
Heat marks progression, and productivity. If you put two sticks together and rub them really fast, you get fire, and you can feed people. If your body is not warm then you don't pump blood throughout it as well, and that goes for all living things.
I have a lot of thoughts on that and ways it could be interpreted.
Change vs nothingness. An end.
Alder and N being men who changed their views vs Ghetsis who couldn't.
Ghetsis using fire/electricity in BW1 as a way to incite change (through zekrom and reshiram) vs using ice in BW2 to enact revenge and "end" everyone. (and the way that biblically, fire was used by angels to purify/change people into better things, whereas freezing them would be the absolute opposite of what angels would do. insert something here about hell freezing over)
The way that volcarona was said to protect ancient people in times of extreme cold...
And conflict, war, being the heated culmination of a slow simmering heat that grows out of hand into something massive. But that conflict isn't necessarily a bad thing, because it means something was wrong and it's going to change. Even if it takes a lot of time to change it, the more obvious conflict rather than complacency = more change.
also alder being canonically a guy who's dealt with a lot of nasty stuff but came back from it stronger like a phoenix, or larvesta going through metamorphosis.. same with n who changed through conflict. and ghetsis whose only changes in life were very slow and part of a carefully constructed plan hinging on everyone else letting it happen. being so slow that it went under the radar until the dragons were involved.
I dunno, i got a lot of thoughts. SHRUG
merely adding "s" and "ed" does not constitute a true victory, only a fool would claim triumph in such an asinine way. ( he's a petty loser )

"Oh stop. You're making me blush!" Petrel giggled with a wave of her hand as Alder leaned in close. And by stop she actually meant 'keep going. I want to hear more.'
This moment had to keep going no matter what.
Batting his eyelashes, Petrel reached over and placed a gloved palm on Alder's arm. "I may be wrong to call myself old or funny looking, but I have enough sense to know when I'm looking at a handsome man such as yourself. And let's not forget how charming you are too!"

The Xatu perched on top of the wooden roof of a well-worn wagon cried out, alerting its trainer to someone approaching. At the sound of her Pokemon's call, Sibyl poked her head out from within the wagon to see that someone was indeed already paying them a visit. They had only just pulled up to the outskirts of this town and had yet to properly set up shop for the day.
Regardless, Sibyl stepped down the rickety, old steps leading out of her mobile home and politely waved to the stranger.
"Welcome to my cart," she greeted him with a friendly tone. Despite the mask covering her face, her smile was apparent in the lone eye she shared with the world. "Have you come seeking for a fortune?"
i wont lie to you ive only known being demi my whole life and i couldnt tell what normal amounts of romantic attraction are. alders probably closest to allo on the spectrum of my muses though. maybe he is allo. I DUNNO.
ghetsis is on the opposite spectrum where he's closest to being ace annnnnddd maybe entirely aromantic. but then again, i dont know "normal attraction levels".
mr "no emotions" over here is between them but a touch closer to ace/aro.
and that about wraps up my brilliant insight. (says a whole lot of nothing and then leaves)
