ok A FIRE WITHIN (2022) definitely less slick & produced than fire of love, but felt more honest. fire of love definitely projected a lot of romanticism towards the story of the kraffts by the tone of the writing, and by contrast i love that werner herzog is like "i'm werner herzog and here's what i think." nothing better than watching a lot of the same astounding incredible (but not enhanced this time) volcano footage played over choir and opera or someone singing italian over accordion. i also felt like the beats -> storyline of this one was handled better. this one had a more somber feel to it too, i think if the two movies could be combined it would be perfect. werner herzog would balance out the manufactured romance of fire of love and fire of love would put a little more joy in werner herzog. regardless absolutely incredible to watch all/more+ this footage again, i could watch 100 movies made solely out of the krafft archive. they died doing what they loved man
