Voltage Fes 2019 (VolFes 2019) Guide For Overseas Attendees [Part 2]

How to refer to Voltage Inc’s games and characters.

Bold words indicate how the Japanese fans call the game.

Samurai Love Ballad: Party (SLBP) = Tenka Touitsu Koi no Ran Love Ballad (KoiRan/Koi no Ran/KoiRan LB/Koi no Ran LB)

Contrary to what everyone on the internet uses, no one here refers to the game as ‘Tenka’. It’s always been KoiRan.

Japan, on the other hand, refers to SLBP as ‘KoiRan Eigo-ban’ (恋乱英語版) [lit. English-language KoiRan]

‘Fran’ is called ‘Xavier’ in KoiRan.

Every lord is referred to by their first name plus ‘-sama’ (ex. Masamune-sama), with the exception of Saizou, as he’s referred to with ‘-san’.

Ayakashi Koi Meguri (Ayakashi) = Ayakashi Koi Meguri (AyaKoi)

Ayakashi for the English version, Japan calls theirs ‘AyaKoi’.

Be My Princess (BMP) = Ouji-sama no Propose（Ouji-sama) Be My Princess 2 (BMP 2) = Ouji-sama no Propose Eternal Kiss (Ouji-sama EK)

If you’re referring to the granddad princes, it’s only ‘Ouji-sama’. If it’s their grandsons, it’s ‘Ouji-sama EK’. Never forget the ‘EK’ part.

In Japan, Wilfred is called ‘Will’, while Hayden is ‘Henry’.

Take note that when you pronounce their names, you kind of have to pronounce it by syllable. That means ‘Will’ becomes ‘Wi-ru’.

Kagami no Naka no Princess Love Palace (MiraPuri/MiraPuri LP)

An unlocalized game, but just in case you want goods, the Japanese call it ‘MiraPuri’, and not Love Palace.

Makai Ouji to Miwaku no Nightmare (Makai Nightmare)

Yet another unlocalized game, but calling it ‘Makai’ should probably be enough.

My Forged Wedding = Chikai no Kiss wa Totsuzen ni (Chika Kiss)

Kougami Yamato is popular enough so I think there shouldn’t be an issue when you mention his name instead of what it’s called in Japan.

Liar! Uncover The Truth = Doubt ~Usotsuki Otoko wa Dare?~ (Doubt)

This one is easy since it’s the first word of the title, though the gratuitous English (”Who is Doubt?”) can make one giggle.

Anidol Colors (Anidol)

Another unlocalized game, but it’s still popular among the fans. It’s Voltage Inc’s idol game.

Love 365 = 100 Scene no Koi+ (Hyakkoi)

Irresistible Mistakes = Ano Yoru Kara Kimi ni Koishiteta (YoruKimi)

Kissed By The Baddest Bidder = Suite Room de Itazura na Kiss Love Trap (AkuKiss)

Scandal in the Spotlight = Itsuwari no Kimi to Scandal (Scandal)

Her Love In The Force = Koibito wa Kouan Keiji (Kouan)

Metro PD: Close to You = Tokubetsu Sousa Micchaku 24-ji (TokuSou)

Voltage Fes 2019 (VolFes 2019) Guide For Overseas Attendees [Part 1]

Written for anyone attending the event in case there is little to no English at the event proper.

Bring your passport just in case they need to confirm your identity. As a foreign visitor in Japan, you actually need to bring your passport everywhere you go.

Once you leave the main hall, you are not allowed to enter again. 

If you want to buy goods, you’ll need to buy a ticket to the event. Same-day tickets are available but are sold in limited quantities, so try to be early.

If you are buying goods, they’ll be giving you a queue number, so make sure you get that. Ask an event staff where to get one.

Credit cards and cash are accepted as a form of payment for goods. Because this is Japan, it’s fine to give JPY10,000 if you are planning to buy a JPY400 can badge.

If you see cosplayers and you want to take photos of them, please ask them first, as well as if they will allow you to post the photo on social media. Do respect them if they say ‘no’. How to ask permission to take their photo: 写真を撮らせていただけませんか？ (Shashin wo torasete itadakemasen ka?) [May I take a photo of you?] How to ask if you can post it on social media: SNSに掲載してよろしいでしょうか？(SNS [social networking site] ni keisai shite yoroshii deshou ka?) [May I post this on SNS?]

Purchase limit for goods are as follows: Merch in blind packaging (can badges, acrylics) - up to 15 Merch that are not in blind packaging - up to 2 per character

You can queue again to buy goods, but only after they announce that it’s free-for-all.

Some items will be available for purchase online after the event, so just wait for Voltage’s announcement on that.

Posting of photos of the event on social media is fine, unless there are explicit signs that say that photo taking is prohibited. 

More often than not, the Japanese who do post photos of the event blur out the faces of the attendees. If you must, do try to take a photo that doesn’t show an attendee’s face.

No food and drinks are allowed inside the venue.

Voltage Fest’s Koi no Ran goods preview are out.

Two clear file sets (A & B) will be sold for JPY1,000 per set while the masking tapes, which are random/blind packaging, will be sold for JPY500.

I nearly forgot the most important things to bring at VolFes:

A file case/plastic case big enough to accomodate A3-sized sheets (if you're buying a marriage certificate)

A ecobag/bag/backpack big enough to hold your goods (just in case they don't provide a bag for your items)
