ik u said keith/lance wasnt ur favorite but imma be real with you , kl has LITERALLY THE BEST FICS EVER like. the canon is ehhh but the quality of fic is really good, i didnt like kl until a tried a fic!! i recommend "Hearts Dont Break Around Here" by klancekorner, "call me, beep me" by orphan_account, and "The Marks We Make" or "Shut Up and Dance With Me" by wittyy_name! :D

YEAH lmao honestly that doesn’t surprise me just because i went into ao3 and it was like 20,000 keith/lance fics to 5,000 shiro/keith fics so STATISTICALLY SPEAKING ur gonna have more goodfic with the badfic!

i will check these out, thank you! i am honestly looking for High Quality and In Character Voltron Feels fics and am not picky about what ship it comes from. writing wise im definitely more interested in shiro/keith and a couple of other things, and io would obvs love to read the Good Shit for them as well!

but reading wise idk man throw me whatever i just want it to read like the characters and not the terrible stock Straight Girls Write Buttsex characterisation that gets pulled out in m/m fandom al...ways

(u no what i mean. the crying, the clinging, the diminutive names, the disappearance of the character’s actual personality in favour of them being the Top or Bottom i uuuuuuh do not wish for This)

^^^^^^^^ I second this bosstoaster has the best shiro-centric fics. I really loved her "Let the Spectrum In" series. Buttered_onions also has some amazing gen and Shiro-centric fics (and amazing AUs). VelkynKarma's Routine Maintenance (Shiro-centric) and Phantamagoria (Pidge-centric) are also wonderful. I think all three of these writers are part of the Voltron Thinktank (a group of people know for writing fics and meta). Will send more recs when I remember the names of the fics ^^

If you like the Keith/lance pairing then @wittyy_name and @zizzani have a fantastic partner fic on ao3 you should check out. One part is called shadow of the past and the other part is called ghost of the future. I’ve also read some of witty_name’s other stuff on ao3 and I’ve liked all of it so far.

i have not really gotten into the ship so far but i am also definitely in a place where i’m looking for the Good Fic regardless of ship (altho if anyone know of the Good Keith/Shiro stuff i would appreciate that!)

If you're up for a longer fic there's the "trouble's making everything alright" series by mytay which is a nice space cowboy au with a lot of angst and good characterization also like, a lot of violence. 11/10 would recommend if you're into established relationships/fighting side by side. sadly it's klance but the quality forgives the pairing

i love me a good space cowboy au! and good characterisation! and long! and established! it sounds like a blast i will give it a shot

I’d recommend anything by bosstoaster on ao3 (though she’s also on tumblr under that name and great). Her fics are generally Shiro-centric and she’s written both excellent gen and explicit stuff (under a related pseud). If you wanna give her a try maybe start with “Listen to the rhythm of your heart”, it’s gen, featured all the Paladins and is a hilarious feel-good fic.
