2016: Year of the Concert 2017: Year of the O2 Mask 2018: Year of Breathing & Saying No 2019: The Year of The Graduation #DQZodiac (it's a thing) The Year of the Graduation sounds boastful. And I know there's at least one or two of you reading this and saying, "FFS, enough! We get it, you matriculated, move the fuck on!" But I call this year this not just because I walked across a stage & got a neat piece of paper with my name spelled correctly on it. I "graduated" in so many different ways this year. Honestly, all of them are equally as important as my #Wentworth graduation. But it all kind of trickles from there. I graduated from @wentworthinstitute becoming a #volunteerleopard. This lead me to #africa with my childhood bestie and a trip we couldn't have dreamed up as kids. Graduating to global travel with the first stamp in my passport being Africa? My mum said I never do anything half-assed. The #olddogMASTEREDnewtricks also lead me back into the #construction trade I loved and missed with a company where I feel honored to belong. I graduated to being part of a company that truly values me and my contributions. And, even better, let their gratitude be known. (I'd tag them, but do they really need to know my mouth is this foul before my 6 month mark?) The dream job allows me much more breathing room, so I get to check off more items on my bucket list, like a 3/4 #North visit to #Calgary . I met my favourite band, twice. I graduated to being "that mom", crying as my youngest sings. I graduated to seeing my oldest start to realize she's worthy of someone decent/ treating her right. Is she still with the guy in the picture? Nope, they're best friends. But anyone who gets my kid to see her worth? I flove them. Graduating to being the lady who can drink on a beach at 11am. Graduated to being the mom who can trust her youngest and squad as they run through Disney & enjoy time with just me & my old man. Graduating to being the couple that discovers they still like each other after all these years. And most of all, graduating to the mindset that I earned all this. And my hard work paid off. Happy New Year, everyone! #nye2019 (at Ngorogoro Crater, Tanzania) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6wg5ROHee8/?igshid=w5z0bcqn9g7e
