Why didn't you bother to come up with new middle names for the alternate counterparts of Nazz Van Bartonschmeer like you did with Edd and Eddy?
Why I didn't come up with another variant of that last name? I never bothered, because the name itself is made up. "Van" would imply it's Dutch, but "Bartonschmeer" isn't. Not even a little. Some fans turned the "van" into "von" (by mistake, really), which makes a little bit more sense, since "Barton" and "Schmeer" separately are surnames you could find in Germany, but these three words together, it doesn't make sense. Of course, I could play the same game and look up a set of three similar-looking or sounding surnames that exist and mash them together for every version of Nazz, but I've obviously not been in a hurry to do so in the 14 years since I made those cultural Ed, Edd n Eddy drawings.
