My take on a cryptid mentioned on Last Podcast on the Left a few weeks ago.
I wanted to envision it as a malevolent spirit that haunts lands that were once more wild. The substance that surrounds the "not deer" follows it and mirrors the former image of the land, consuming the symbols of man that it touches.
