Those are pretty gowns by Von Lazaro, but sht! Gayang-gaya lang naman niya ang style ni Ms. Veluz! Iba lang ang pattern but the concept and everything screams "Veluz Bride!".

Matagal na akong faney ni Ms. Veluz so I know her works, one of a kind talaga.

Yung designs niya dati waley na waley. Bonggang palda lang tapos mga beads, yun na. Ang layo sa designs niya ngayon na ginaya niya kay Ms. Veluz.
My cousin (the bride back then) chose Ms. Carmen Lazaro for her wedding gown. We went there to meet Ms. Carmen, his mother, pero hindi na daw ata humaharap yun sa clients and Von's the one handling the business already.
We were totally disappointed. Hindi kami naasikaso ng mabuti. Every meeting we had with him was a disaster. He was always one-hour late, minsan pa nga umaabot ng two hours. Ok lang kung busy ang designer as long as we'll be handled professionally, kaso hindi. Ang masnakakairita pa, he's not busy for brides, he's busy for photography.
Yes, back then he was so into photography. Our last meeting with him was a total disaster. They have quite a small living room to meet clients. That time, meron siyang photoshoot (kunwaring photoshoot with a kunwaring model). He has backgrounds installed in his house pala, that's how much he loves photography. Nakaharang lahat ng gamit niya, wala kaming mapwestuhan, kahit sa pinto nahirapan kami lumabas at pumasok. At wala siyang pakielam. Even his mga mananahi or those who embroidered the gowns ay naiinis na sa kanya. You can tell by their looks. Has also asked us to come by 1pm kasi tapos na daw ang gown. To our disappointment, waley pa. Natapos ang gown around 4pm! Yes, ganun katagal kami nagtiis sa loob ng bahay na yun.
I asked Von what course he took, baka lang fashion design. If I remember correctly, he took marketing or something to do with business.
Di mo ma-feel ang love niya for designing gowns, and you can't be like that kasi special day ng tao ang nakasalalay sa kamay mo. He was a total opposite of his mom who we met one time. A lot better than her son.
Baka naman we had low budget kaya di niya feel i-entertain mabuti, which is totally wrong. Pero that time, Ms. Carmen Lazaro's gowns were not beyond our budget, medyo mura na rin, kaya nga siya ang napili.
Ang ending, hindi naisuot ng pinsan ko ang gown because of the wrong measurements. Kay Ms. Veluz kahit di ka na pumunta nakukuha pa rin niya ang kakasya perfectly sayo.
Yes, we had a bad experience with him before, and you can call me biased talaga sa opinion ko, but for me mas-serene and genuine ang designs ni Ms. Veluz. In all fairness, magaganda na talaga ang designs ni Von ngayon (na ginaya kay Ms. V) pero parang bongga lang talaga, nilagyan lang kaek-ekan para mapaganda, but Ms. Veluz's works are like personalized for each and every bride. Feel mo talaga ang aura sa damit. She can make any bride stand out, not just because she makes pretty gowns and stunning details, but because she puts her heart into it as well as her bride's.
I'm not a detractor of Lazaro nor working for Ms. Veluz. I just want to share my experience at ang napansin ko sa designs niya.
But maybe he was young back then kaya unprofessional. Inexperienced and not sure of what to do kaya ganoon na lang siya. Same batch kami (different school) and just graduated. Hopefully nagmature na nga siya.
Pero gaya-gaya pa rin siya.
