it was early, but not too early. prime dog walking hours, if there was ever any. ever since the ajumeoni two doors down got a promotion at her workplace, her adorable little pomeranian, jaehee, had been a regular of eunbyul’s. she always looked forward to their walks, though recently, with some ( unfortunate ) schedule conflicts, she hadn’t seen her in a while. what was it? a week—two weeks now? the leash in her palm felt like coming back home after a long time away. and outside—
“jaehee-ssi, how’s the weather today~?” she hummed, enjoying the light breeze that hit her cheeks with closed eyes, “it’s good ri—”
normally she’d get a bark in response to that. instead, the girl found herself lurching forward ungracefully ( eyes now open ) before she’d even had a chance to finish. now jaehee was a tiny little thing, nothing more than a few kilograms, but she still managed to pull eunbyul along, with a strength that matched that of a mastiff. it’d be impressive, if it wasn’t also completely out of character for the dog. jaehee was a gentle soul—one of the calmest dogs she’s ever had the pleasure of walking. and yet... “what’s got you so worked up, hu—ahhh!” oh no. the leash had slipped out of her palm, while all the color simultaneously drained from her face. unrestrained, jaehee took that as her cue to sprint off into the distance, leaving the brunette chasing after her with panicked eyes. this is a disgrace to my entire career, wailed eunbyul to herself, tugging her cap closer to her face so that she wouldn’t be recognized by any bystanders. i’m never gonna get hired ever again!
