On This Day in Music...

On this day in 1942, one of the most influential and creative musicians was born. Jimi Hendrix, guitarist, singer and songwriter was most known for his innovative use of the electric guitar by combining fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion. His performance at the 1969 Woodstock Festival is one of his most memorable. Hendrix also owned his own recording studio called “Electric Lady.” He died on September 18th, 1970 from drug-related complications.
