She's Calling Me: The Golden Gate Bridge
Come to me. (theme plays as Daniel reads Louis's letter)
Viens à moi. Come to me Louis. I've been watching you for some time now, Louis. From river to lake, lake back to river, looking for my companion heart.
Come with me! Come with me, Louis. Pease come with me!
Come to me. Come to me, Francis
I've been calling to you for some time. Rest.
Can you hear that? Can you hear that, hm? Can you hear her? She's calling me.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a Tibetan Bowl Howling Through San Francisco
Now check out the sound the Golden Gate Bridge makes NOW:
This can be heard as far away from the bridge as Bernal Heights, which is ~8.8 miles away.
The Golden Gate Bridge has made this noise from June 2020- and is still making it. Sometime later this year, it will stop making this noise. Mostly.
It's described as an eerie wail that you can hear in high winds and rain due the wind traveling through the new thinner struts on the bridge to make the bridge resistant to 100 mph sustained winds.
A 2020 independent engineering analysis concluded the sounds produced by the wind flowing past the sharp edges of thinner strats is a bunch of Aeolian tones. These pitches correspond to the notes F4, G4, A4, B4, forming an F Lydian Tetrachord.
In other words, the wind makes the bridge sound like a giant eerie harp.
Supposedly these aluminum clips with rubber sleeves for all of the thinner slats will make it sound less eerie sometime this year (2025).
The solution was approved in 2021, but the bridge officials had to wait for the suicide deterrent net to be finished in January 2024 before going ahead with that. The nets reduced the number of people lost by 73%. Imagine the siren noise for three years calling to people while those nets were not in operation.
Anyways, as best as I can tell, the bridge still seems eerie as that project hasn't been finished.
ETA: There's no news or update for the bridge clips on the slats to reduce the wailing.

People are still talking about the bridge whistling in the wind on social media as of January 6, 2026 (threads)
Nate Mercereau, who lived in Los Angeles decided to record a duet album with the Bridge's sound because he thought it sounded "dynamic and musical" like "Tibetan singing bowls."
Between the wailing and the bridge's past as a notorious suicide site, I can't believe this bridge isn't haunted as hell.
Now, the fictional The Vampire Lestat's tour isn't passing through San Francisco (link has Google map) In the Chronicles the San Francisco was the first and only concert, and where Louis happened to be living before Akasha kidnapped Lestat. He's not living there in the present day of the series, and probably is not there when season 3 starts.
Cincinnati, Ohio :December 25, 2025- A mysterious sound that sounds like haunted whale was/is playing in Cincinnati, Ohio (Northside, Clifton, Camp Washington neighborhoods) which is most likely CSXT 8431, an older “trim engine” that needs repairs in the Queensgate railyard. January 16 2026: CSX Tranportation says they replaced a turbocharger when asked about the train but that they didn't have any trains with an alarm capable of making that sound, which has ceased for now.
Claudia: I said outside of Chicago. He said he didn't like big cities. He gets me outside Chicago. A diner on the Claudia: way to Gary. You find me in Springfield... Selling chestnuts outside the train station. By the train station. He kills himself in Cincinnati. Louis: What the hell do we know about Cincinnati? Claudia: What do they know about Cincinnati?..
Divisadero Street actually has a major music venue, The Independent, that's been around in one form or the other since the 1960s. It's between Hayes and Grove on Divisadero, not even a block up from Louis' apartment. But it's just as well, because I can't imagine this siren bridge calling to any of these vampires and having it be uneventful.
