i wanted to do this like three days ago, but to redesign the mutants i had to fuckin. figure out the larges, where they get their mutant title from
for so long i went "ugh idk how to do this reasonably w all these random species" then i went "well canon science in this universe is crazy, so who cares!" which is where gtoilets magic blood comes from, which leads to SciSkib wanting to grow other skibs, which leads to the gsquad (and more). thinking the mutants created under sciskib were reduced to heads in toilets then grafted onto skeletons of large units. swat is a very small part badger, buzz is wolverine, and rambo is part lion! by the time theyre "stable" in mutation any hints of a grafted body (odd patterns or colors, unusual behavior for vortiskibs, etc). swat for fucked up while he was still fragile so hes like.. extra feral, buzz just kinda handled the trauma Not The Best, and rambo... is pretty successful! first pets from the skin graphs are heavily influenced from the new body, and if done correctly, the final product should have the head's pattern and colors
wow im rambling. mutants like fem mutant or uhhh. diplomat? or mafia were injected with serum of a large (or normal sized unit, rarely) dna Or Whatever and get mutated there. i guess thatd allow for less physical and mental trauma, as well as potential choice in genes to inherit.

When looking for refs, I did compare a hyena body sketch (juggy) to a Weimaraner (gtoilet) to get a slightly 🤏 better shape to match, but I still used American bully/pitbull images to actually draw her, because she’s soooo that shape to me 🥺 round and cute
Okayyyy she was MEANT to look different an entire ref ago but like. I forgot or something. ANYWAY …. She’s gtoilet and juggernauts kid. I haven’t gotten the chance to properly plan out likeeee… how much gtoilet was around or if juggy mostly took care of her, who birthed her, ….
BUT I think. I think gtoilet raised her for just long enough from birth to like….. the equivalent of eight human years. Enough to establish a connection and idea they can both have of each other, but also SO much room for them to change. Juggy probably knows that’s her kid, but she’d intentionally keep it secret (at the very least from duchess) to keep her safe. … this means duchess was raised by and constantly around Astros like Overseer, Detainer and like.. idk… mothership is here too I guess
I don’t get the chance to expand on it yet, but like. All of the Astros, after countless generations of their ways of living, have literally evolved to like. Expect mechanical enhancements. Like… missing limbs or maybe missing/organs are VERY common in birth and leads to joint or limb issues down the line. (Extreme example is Hunter, honestly) Overseer wasn’t born w front arms and both Juggy and Detainer needed theirs removed for better augmentations (and this kinda affects their toilets too but that’s kinda whatever). It’s literally as normal for them as getting a haircut is for us. Juggys family/lineage has worse issues on average (something something if I wanted, she could *need* the mask for bad lungs or whatever) but gtoilet was fairly okay, especially for being kiiiinda sickly otherwise.
This all culminates to duchess having weak shoulders and arm joints, which is why her having wings is surprising! She can hover w/o them mostly, and her core, like anyone else’s, helps keep her “stable” and gives her energy. But she still likes the motions of flying around and she thinks they look cute on her 🫶 She has less noticeable musculature bc working out those muscles hurts too much 😔
Anyway. I keep wanting to turn her into like. Suuuch a daddy’s girl little brat… but I’m trying to hold back a little cuz I DO think she can be mature. She’s just bored out of her mindddd. I think she should essentially fall in love w WOD, and I *really* like the idea that she despisesssss the corefucker. The thing just makes terrible jokes and forces WOD’s to move and do lame things, like try and kill the kids they have together 🙄 oh wait that was just WOD acting on his own…
Yeah, those. The name of this damn au LOOOL. Currently, I have it to where she plants some eggs inside him when like. It was NOT expected to be able to take, so they had three daughters. At some point, WOD is left alone w their kids often enough that he can probably predict when anyone’s gonna be back. He’s spending a lot of time jusy like… rotting on the floor while they play around and make fun of him 💀 he feels actual compassion for once and tries to kill one by biting it in half. He passes out from the effort, and it doesn’t even kill her 😔 duchess won’t be pleased
Ah this is getting long huh. I would LOVE to plot further than this, but it’s so difficult when I was/am relying on the canon material to base things :( I have no idea if I’ll ever get to the Duke or have a proper ending for this au, when I’d really like to!!! That’s why I have NOTHINGGGGG for her scars
