She flung rotting feelings and putrid thoughts at him. All the words she spoke were long past stale from sitting inside her for so long. Secrets and buried thoughts and all the unsure-ness of actions from long ago when everything was younger than now. Tears started flowing from the pain it took to unstick it all from her mind and send it flying into the air where there was a witness. That observer stood still. He was all too aware of the importance of his inaction while she purged herself. A movement would signal his mind was not wholly focused on her in her time of need. Pacing or even the shifting of weight would break the woman before him. She was fragile in these moments, spilling secrets and mind horrors for him. All too soon it seemed, she was quiet. The last words finally expelled from her. She stared at him. In only a few moments, she'd realize how vulnerable she was. In front of the Lord of Mischief, no less. The first moment of quiet. The second of shock that she had finally shared a dark secret. The third, the moment of realization of who she had spoke it to. And finally, the forth, readying herself for the usual responses to such a pain. It's in this forth moment that Loki acted. As she readied herself to be told that life sucks and she needs to be better. That hers isn't the greatest pain. That everything will be better now that she's spoken aloud. He walked forward, calm and cool. She froze. This was not part of the usual excuses that waved her pain into a neat little box. He reached out and wrapped her in his arms, holding her to him. A fifth, unexpected moment of shock from her. Then she shuttered and her body leant exhausted against him. She held on. He held her. All was quiet.
