Hello fictionkinfessions! It's Percy again. It's been a while, but I've had other interests keeping me busy lately. I haven't watched the last three episodes of the season yet, to be quite honest I've been putting it off. But that's not why I'm here.
I've been trying to navigate my feelings towards Vex'ahlia for a while now. I know what's source canon, and I know I remember my children, but I just didn't seem to remember loving her that way. Or Vax'ildan for that matter, as I know the twins having swapped love lives is a common enough phenomenon. And without a clear idea who I fell in love with, I sort of just chalked it up to "I just don't remember being in love with her."
Well, I had something of an epiphany, and I realized the woman I personally fell in love with was one Pike Trickfoot. It would certainly explain the otherwise unexplained fondness I had for her as a character since day 1 that was distinctly unlike how I felt about the others.
Unfortunately this means an even more confusing divergent kin canon to piece together, including direct contradiction with D&D race lore. But damn it, I'm just happy to finally remember my wife. I'm happy to have finally realized she was my wife, and I'm happy I no longer have to try and convince myself I was in love with someone else just because I was in source.
Pike, my dear, I love you. I hope to one day find you. If even a single Pike who loved her Percy read this, my day would be made.
