Morganaux couldn’t remember the last time he’d done something like this. There were few things more satisfying than spending the day in the kitchen laboring over a feast to share amongst comrades, but when the world needed saving, opportunities like these had been few and far between.
And, though he had only made the trip to Camp Broken Glass to hand off a delivery of fresh produce straight from House Dzemael’s greenhouses, he couldn’t help but feel the mess hall calling to him— beckoning him to indulge in a hobby he had been neglecting for far too long.
What a wonderful day he’d had, basking in the warmth of a busy kitchen and revisiting old family recipes he’d missed dearly, all while exchanging smiles and laughter with the cooks as they worked. And better yet, just as dinner was about to be served, it seemed he was going to have a chance to catch up with a friend!
"It was no trouble at all!” Morganaux answered, watching with a pleased grin as Maxima filled each of them a plate of food. “It was... Actually quite the opposite really. Relaxing, even! I must admit, I was worried that I was a bit out of practice with my cooking, so I truly appreciate your vote of confidence. Let us hope that it ends up tasting just as good as it looks!”
Twirling a strand of curly hair around a fingertip, he motioned for the other to lead the way. “I would be honored to join you for dinner! Admittedly, I was hoping for the chance to meet with you and ask a few questions of you while I was here, so that works out perfectly!”
