VOY: 2x12 + 2x13
2x12 "Resistance"
Wow, an immensely super duper exciting episode. It was definitely action-filled but I also loved the subtlety emotional scenes between Tuvok and B'Elanna (he gets tortured and I could viscerally feel B'Elanna's frustration at wanting to comfort Tuvok in some way but not knowing how and being angry at the people imprisoning them because HOW DARE THEY HURT TUVOK AND B'ELANNA, MY PRECIOUS CINNAMON BUNS), and Janeway and the guy mistaking her for his long-lost daughter. I love the action scenes, but I guess I'm also saying I like it when it's followed by character interactions that make me fall more in love with these characters.
2x13 "Prototype"
I like that the episode began from the point of view of the robot.
Also? The cutest exchange between Harry & B'Elanna (so far):
Harry: You may think you're tougher than everybody else, B'Elanna Torres, but I can go without sleep just as long as you can.
B'Elanna: Don't make me laugh, Starfleet.
It definitely feels like Harry’s coming into his own as a character. Imho, I think there’s a remarked improvement between s1 and s2!Harry. It could be attributed to the fact that he’s gotten to shine on his own. Also uber lovely is that B'Elanna gets to be the hero in this ep much like Janeway is in the previous one. I love when everyone’s portrayed as the kick-ass awesome Starfleet officers that they are, or the Maquis officers that they are (keep forgetting that the crew is technically made up of both groups and not just Starfleet because, unfortunately, everyone gets assimilated under the Starfleet banner).
