Since I got a fairly positive reaction, I'm starting my summary of the VegasPete Story. I'll be tagging the posts "#vp chapter by chapter", so check back!

Before We Start-- KinnPorsche Novel Ending, and things to know
The show diverges at a few key points, and excludes several characters. Here's the basics for show-only fans:
Two characters who appear in the novel that show-only fans may not be aware of:
Nop - A former main family bodyguard turned minor family subordinate. In the KinnPorsche novel, he brought the captured Pete food and advised Pete to remain calm. His advice led to Pete treating Vegas with kindness and directly led to their relationship.
Dr Top - A Theerapanyakul-owned doctor. Tutored high school-aged Macau, and takes care of both parts of the family when injured or sick. Macau believes Top is his first love. He and Tankhun are fighting for Dr Top’s attention.
Gun is still abusive in the novel, with bonus homophobia because why not. He also has a series of mistresses, which Vegas blames for his mother’s suicide and also uses as an excuse for his own misogyny. Gun’s current mistress, Prim, is pregnant (and about the same age as Vegas).
Porsche’s mom is dead dead. Korn kept her body on ice in his greenhouse because??????? Korn and Gun have conflicting stories about Nampheung’s death, but ostensibly she killed herself because one of the brothers killed her husband and possibly sexually assaulted her. Locked in the greenhouse with Porsche and Kinn, Korn shoots Gun. Vegas, locked on the other side of the door, snaps and runs, ending up in a car crash.
In the hospital, Gun’s mistress gets into an argument with Macau. According to her, Gun intended to disinherit Vegas and Macau in favor of her new baby. Macau pushes her, causing her water to break and Prim to go into labor. Prim disappears from the hospital, leaving the baby behind.
Pete, having chosen to resign as a bodyguard in order to move in with Vegas, enthusiastically decides to adopt the new baby, naming him “Venice”. Vegas is not terribly pleased by this development, but he’s a sucker for Pete so I guess they have a baby now. Kim shows up at the hospital and tells Vegas to sign over the minor family’s holdings back to the major family, since Gun’s dead. Also Macau has clinical depression. Given his family, I’m not surprised.
SPEAKING OF THE MAJOR FAMILY: Kinn is officially the heir to the major family, and Korn gives Porsche the signet ring for the minor family. That done, he pulls Kim aside and hands him control of Korn’s personal secret organization. And so, the Theerapanyakuls continue to set up their sons to kill each other.

Vegas gets home at midnight, smelling like alcohol. He has many soft and fluffy feelings about Pete. Boy does Vegas love Pete. Also, he’s confused as to where the bruises on Pete’s sides came from. Pete’s just clumsy. Weird how he managed to be the deputy head bodyguard of the main family when he keeps injuring himself. >.>
Pete cuddles Venice and curses Vegas out for going out drinking without him. He comments that Porsche has been getting home late too, and Vegas is relieved Pete doesn’t press the issue. Instead Pete optimistically tells Vegas he loves “everyone who loves me, who wishes me the best.” Vegas muses that Pete is always stubbornly positive. They kiss, Pete tells Vegas it’s 1am and if Vegas really loved him, he’d go the hell to sleep.
The next morning, we learn Pete doesn’t trust most people with Venice. Pete also, unfortunately, has to go see Thankhun for reasons unspecified. He pushes Vegas to take Venice to work with him instead. Vegas understands because he too does not want to spend time with Thankhun. Vegas tries to weaponize incompetence. Pete is having none of it. “If you don’t know how to change his diaper, open youtube!”
Porsche calls Vegas for help, and Pete sends Venice off with him.
Vegas drops Macau off at university. Venice cries upon finding himself alone with Vegas and without Pete or Macau. Vegas makes Nop (currently driver) stop and switch places with him because we're too early in the book for them to get along. At the main family compound, Vegas gives Venice a bottle to shut him up. Porsche is a Sad Boi, turning to Vegas in his time of weakness. Porsche rests his forehead on Vegas’ shoulder, and they hold each other for comfort. Then Nop shows up with Venice and Porsche jumps like they're in a romcom and Pete’s about to misunderstand.
Venice needs his diaper changed and we get a few more comedic paragraphs of Vegas learning how to love his baby brother. Then it’s time for a work meeting! Thankfully, the work meeting doesn’t mind a baby crawling around. This being the book it is, our meeting is an arms sale so of course Venice picks up a gun. And licks a bullet. Denied these delicious treats, Venice starts sobbing again. Enjoy a cute scene of Vegas trying to get Venice to stop crying by bribing him with a car– of course, the moment Venice stops being a sobbing brat he… disappears. Vegas, as new parents do, panics and starts opening every cabinet– fuck his reputation as a scary, cool guy. Pete calls, Vegas pretends everything’s fine while secretly freaking out.
“Who’s kid is this?” asks Kinn, picking Venice out of a trash can. Kinn found Venice just before Pete showed up (whew), so Vegas pretends nothing went wrong, and hands Venice over to Pete for a shower and nap.
Vegas heads to the study for a meeting with Korn. Korn, as always, acts warm and kind, and Vegas trusts exactly none of that. Beside Korn is Kim, who mocks Vegas for running around looking for the baby. Korn shrugs it off, and suggests that Venice be transferred to the main family’s care. “No one can raise their nephews as well as me,” this bastard says.
Speaking of family, how’s Porsche doing? Since Vegas has been trained since childhood to run the minor family business, he’s been tasked with getting Porsche up to speed. Kinn accuses Vegas of working Porsche too hard– he’s angry, probably jealous and Vegas enjoys it. He respects Kinn and he sees Korn in Kinn. but the real evil is Kim. “Kimhan is a gamechanger for Korn.”
Thankhun interrupts the pissing contest. Vegas came to tell them how Porsche is doing, Porsche is doing great! Vegas allows himself appreciation of Thankhun filling in the cracks in the relationships. Korn comments that brothers should forgive each other. “Use love as I taught.” Vegas, seeing the emotional manipulation for what it is, decides it’s time to gtfo. He looks himself in the mirror and knows he’ll have to play the part of the devil to face the devil in this game.

Pete is at the hospital when Arm shows up. Arm has been concerned about the growing number of injuries on Pete's body, like a good friend. Pete tells him that he caused the injuries himself, back the fuck off. (Because no one ‘s going to be concerned about THAT, Pete, thanks.) Dr Top arrives with two bags of medicine, and asks Pete to please try and get at least Macau to actually come in himself, if not Vegas. He has recommended a senior doctor in the psychiatry program for them, and is getting psych meds for Macau and Vegas. Top also gives Pete vitamins and tells him to get some rest.
On his way home Pete reflects on the stress he’s under. He might have resigned, but his bodyguard instincts are running overdrive. All of the men assigned to the minor family compound are main family men, with the previous group scattered. Nop is the only one left, because Pete begged to keep him. Korn is watching Vegas and Macau, and Pete doesn't know when he'll decide to take the brothers out.
Anyway, Macau ordered pizza. Pete ruffles Macau’s hair and goes to get Vegas.
Vegas has trashed his office. Pete grapples him to keep Vegas from breaking anything else, while he screams and curses. “I hate dad,” he screams over and over. Pete sees that Vegas is still imprisoned by his father and the Main Family’s expectations, and he’s lashing out in the only way he can. Pete embraces Vegas, sharing all the fear, care, and love he has for Vegas through physical affection. Slowly Vegas calms down and Pete offers to help in the way he knows best. By taking the pain Vegas wants to inflict.
Pete gets shoved up against the desk and Vegas fucks him with only saliva as lube. okay look, you guys ……………the sex is painful and Pete is extremely enthusiastic about it. The man is a masochist. Vegas lights a cigarette in the middle of fucking Pete and cums only after getting his hit of nicotine.
Vegas has calmed down a bit while coming down. Then Pete cuts his foot on a shard of broken ashtray, sending Vegas spiraling back into a freakout about the day his father died, this time one Pete can't stop. He grabs for the bag of medication, and takes out a syringe, injecting Vegas with a sedative.
As Vegas collapses, a bodyguard slams in. It's about Macau. They found him in his room with a wrist slit. The razor was found with him. Pete, channeling his mother bear energy, shoves everyone away and insists on picking up Macau and taking him to the hospital himself. He leaves Venice in Nop’s capable hands.
“Don't worry…. Macau…”

We open in media res– in a warehouse, a distressed Pete holds a gun on Vegas and Porsche. Vegas tries to talk Pete down, but whatever he’s learned or believes is upsetting enough that he points the gun at Vegas. Pete is openly crying, and Vegas thinks it’s his fault.
Porsche takes the moment of distraction to lunge at Pete and grab the gun. The three grapple for it until an underling calls out to tell them the main family’s about to show up. Porsche manages to grab the gun and pull the trigger. Pete collapses and Porsche manhandles Vegas out of the warehouse while underlings toss some smoke bombs to cover their escape, leaving Pete alone.
FLASHBACK: VEGAS
It is 3am, Venice is crying, and Vegas is annoyed. As babies are wont to do, Venice cries for attention. And when he’s hungry. Or tired. Or upset.
(“Didn't your parents teach you better? What the heck!” thinks Vegas. My dude, you ARE his parents.)
Pete tries to get up, and Vegas handcuffs him to the bed. Pete cusses him out and punches Vegas but it just reminds him of good times. Vegas gets Pete to jerk him, while Venice continues to cry. Pete complains and struggles– Vegas apparently keeps the first belt he hit Pete with in the bedside drawer for extra fun. He hits Pete with it a few times and then fucks him without lube. Please note: Pete’s only complaint here is that Venice is hungry, and he wants to check on the baby. Vegas likes Pete’s teary face, and jerks him off.
Finally done, Pete grouses at Vegas until Vegas finally unlocks the handcuff so he can get up and make a bottle for the baby. According to Vegas, Venice is a perfect sweet angel for Pete and a complete brat otherwise. Even Macau has been fooled into thinking Venice is cute! Watch out, Venice, spoiled brats get bullied >:(
The next morning, Pete tells Venice and Vegas they look alike. Venice cries. Macau thinks this is hilarious, so he and Pete go through a photo album he digs up. Vegas is in domestic AU hell. Pete hands him unspecified “medicine” and we learn Vegas has a late meeting with Porsche.
Vegas drops Macau off at university. But he doesn’t go to the company offices. In fact, he doesn’t have a late night meeting with Porsche. But he is… spending the whole day with Porsche. The pair smoke and drink whiskey on a couch and worry that Kinn and Pete will notice they’ve both been coming home late.
“Should we be more careful?” wonders Porsche.
“It’s already gone this far,” Vegas replies.
Porsche says he’s already hurting Kinn. They’re turning into demons.
No, they’re not, Vegas says. “But…”

Vegas wakes up cuddling Pete and Venice like the sap he is. Gosh he loves Pete. Pete’s been wearing turtlenecks and long sleeves lately– weird, isn’t he hot? From conversation with Pete, Vegas realizes he somehow slept a full day. Once again, weird. When did he get home the other day? Why does he have other missing memories? Pete jokes that Vegas is working too hard while Vegas tries to rewind his memories back to the day before.
FLASHBACK (One Day Previous)
A person is tied to a chair and has clearly been beaten, but is still defiant. A taller person stands with Vegas, smiling. The taller person threatens the figure in the chair– this is an interrogation, and the person in the chair knows “something about my father and the main family”, says the taller person. The taller person presses a gun to the other figure’s forehead. The person in the chair promises all of the information they want.
“People like you have no right to bargain!”
Vegas is pulled from the memory of a gunshot by Pete calling his name. Pete teases him about frowning too much and getting wrinkles. Vegas asks if Pete would still be with him if he became wrinkly and ugly because this book is half domestic AU, half tragedy. Pete teases Vegas and kisses him a bit before finally pulling back to tell him about Macau. Look, don't worry, everything is fine but… Macau slit his wrist yesterday. Vegas, of course, panics and demands to be taken to the hospital, but Macau’s already home.
Apparently the wound wasn't severe enough to require hospitalization– Macau demanded to return home, so Nop was put on watch. This news sends Vegas running to Macau’s room. Macau looks bright-eyed, despite the bandage and insists he’s fine. “Why did you do this?” Vegas asks, but Macau won't answer even when yelled at. Vegas knew Macau had depression, and this isn't the first time he’s done this. He tries not to push, but he can't stand the idea of being without his little brother.
Macau appeals to Pete, who reasons that Macau has been stressed with starting university and… you know. Everything. Vegas and Macau hug and cry and love each other very very much. “I'm always by your side. You don't have to be afraid, just don't leave me,” says Vegas several times. Macau promises not to. They both have attachment issues. Vegas promises himself he’ll give Macau the love their father never did.
Knock knock! Who’s there? It's Pete's grandparents, here to do some babysitting and give us a bit of comic relief.
