Today is the 80th anniversary of VJ day - generally recognized as the end of hostilities in World War II. Thank you to the greatest generation for fighting ... And dying ... for us!!

Historical Trivia: VP Day
Today marks the 70th anniversary of VJ Day, but In Australia and other British Commonwealth nations it was initially known as VP Day (Victory in the Pacific) in the style of VE Day (Victory in Europe) rather than the now more common VJ Day (Victory Over Japan). The British and the now independent Commonwealth nations commemorate VJ Day today on the 15th August when Japan announced they would surrender while the US commemorates the actual day the surrender document was signed on the 2nd September.
