Alien: Resurrection (1997)
I just watched Predator: Killer of Killers.
Suddenly, I REALLY want to see all these people unite to kick the Xenomorphs and Yautja's asses.
Alien Resurrection is so incredibly gay- I can't.
And I mean not just the totally queer-coded relationship between Ripley and Call.
But. Like. Call's whole self-loathing thing, and the hiding she's a robot, but then getting outed, and being totally ashamed and all dat.
S'all some real heavy metaphor shit.
Not to mention Johner and Vriess... They fucking kiss at the end. Complete enemies to lovers I swear.

👌 for the Alien ask?
Do you have any brotps?
Okay on this I think I gotta go with Christie and Vriess from Alien Resurrection.
And you’re probably thinking, “who?”
That would be the characters played by Dominique Pinon and Gary Dourdan. In that bewildering Jean-Pierre-Jeunet-Makes-His-Idea-of-an-American-Film bit of insanity, you might only remember them as “the black guy and the one in the wheelchair.”
But the novelization, which is from the script before the film was edited down, gives them a lot more backstory. Christie was a role that was created with Chow-Yun Fat in mind and he was gonna be scary cool and crazy good with guns. We see a bit of this in the escape scene where he shoots the security officer via ricochet. And Vriess is an insanely good engineer, but we only see a hint of this in the film with “they never check the chair.” I... may have a soft spot for engineers who use their smarts for combat.
So there’s a hint of their relationship in the film, but the novelization shows more of what should have been their backstory and relationship. Nowhere do we see this better than in the dramatic scene where Vriess is holding his and Christie’s combined weight on a ladder to keep them from falling into the alien trap/nest, and it looks like he’s about to lose his grip:
And then of course, Christie unhooks himself so Vriess can escape.
Ah, my heart.
Thank you for the ask!!

The little Queenburster was the same size as any other Queen larva, her only difference being the tiny green Spitter-glands that were newly formed on her crest and body. With a tiny, squeaky hiss, she looked up to inspect the stranger in the wheeled device and let out a tiny screech.
