(Please tag as vrln) there is only 1 major lgbt+ support organisation in my city but they just say lgbtq specifically and nothing else. I want someone to talk to in person about how I feel about my orientation and also my gender identity but they mightnt be aware of asexuality or agender. Should I still contact them? Are there other options for trying to find someone to talk to? I live in a smallish city with no ace awareness so I'm kind of at a loss for what to do...
It's probably worth a shot to try talking to them. If they don't accept asexuality they should still be be accepting of trans individuals.
If you need other people to talk to though, reach out to others online. There are a variety of online communities for queer people. I know you say you need someone to talk to in person, but if for some reason the support group won't accept you then you'll need to look elsewhere. I know sometimes it can feel really alienating to only talk to people online and meeting queer people in person feels more validating, but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
