What sharpening settings do you use? Thanks!
i sharpen through vapoursynth using the finesharp tool and usually do the lowest strength (.22) up to .5 ish!

hiiiii firstly just wanna say THANK YOU massively for your gif tutorial i literally have got most of it but im stuck on the last step on vapoursynth 😭 when i encode the video nothing rly shows up.. do you know where im going wrong perhaps?
hmm what do you mean by "nothing shows up"? does the encoder run? if yes then once it's finished the resized clip should be wherever you specified it to be - for me it's in a folder called Output in my vapoursynth folder and the file is called "output.mov"
I wanted to ask you if you could explain Vapourscript in detail 🥺 I keep getting script errors even though it's correct. And encoding video takes too much time.
i already have what i consider a very detailed explanation of vapoursynth in my gif tutorial here 😭 i can’t really help you with errors unless you tell me what they are but also there are many errors that people get that i’ve never personally encountered...
for that one anon... i can't think of anything to say for the vs errors but you should try to empty up/free some space on your computer because that causes vs to lag too and take long!

I tried downloading from that link but my Mac keeps saying that it doesn’t trust the file when I try to open it :((
Oh sorry I forgot to mention that usually if it doesn’t allow me to open the file I go into security and allow the file to open but this time it doesn’t even give me that option it’s not allowing me to open it at all I had to throw away the download
i just downloaded the zip folder and opened the VapourSynth-R50.pkg on my iMac and my security & privacy settings give me the option to open it anyway... i don’t know why it wouldn’t show up for you but i’d recommend trying something here or googling the problem
ahhh yeah, i do have pc. and i opened the gif in ps but the quality came out kind of weird. i'll play around with it another day, right now my brain hurts too much lmao. thank you for answering my asks! i really appreciate it.

hi there!! i know you and many other ccs use vps for live performances, but all of your other gifs look so crisp and clean too!! do you use vps for those too? or do you have specific sharpening settings/actions? thank you!!!!
yes!! i use vapoursynth for all my gifs - it resizes them in a way where less quality is lost compared to resizing in photoshop. i talk about my different settings in my gif tutorial - basically i use a preprocessor for ts files but none for any other type of video; all the other settings are pretty much the same (but depends on the original video quality)
