A castle was built here in 1425 by Henri de Colombier on the site of a previous medieval castle. Of Colombier’s structure, the donjon, several towers, outbuildings, curtain wall and the gate-house survive.
In 1641 it was acquired by the de Senarclens family. Today the castle is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. It is privately owned and cannot be visited by the general public.
