Joined Starfleet because her traditionalist parents were like “How did we fail in parenting, our child is an idiot.” they tried pairing her with an exceptionally smart Vulcan, but he was boring, and she wasn’t having that! Cue big boy over there, snatches her away from the starship she was assigned to, and takes her as a hostage, but then falls in love with her because how could he not, she’s impossible to hate.
She’s like, his trophy wife, basically, but she doesn’t mind.
