My latest project: deer jawbone dreamcatcher.
I'm very happy with this piece. It definitely took a lot of patience to put together, but the persistence was worth it. Now it will hang over our bed.
There are 13 stones in total: green gems are green quartz and the black gem is black jasper/basanite. I used artificial feathers, but in the event that I come across some natural ones, I may switch then out.
All in all, I'm pleased with the overall look of this one, and would absolutely do it again, should more jawbones find their way to me.
fun vulture tip: never ever use gorilla glue on skulls. tried to glue some teeth in - it expands. and turns the bone orange. and leaks out of pores. it's water-resistant and soaking the skull in hydrogen peroxide for days didn't even make a dent in it. yeah. don't use gorilla glue, friends.
This is how my cat sits and watches us cook.
Fuck it. It's nearly 1am but my back hurts like crazy so I think I'll try going for a short walk. Plus I think I saw a dead squirrel just up the street earlier, so.....
Hi Julien, which bone is your favorite?
Human or animal?
animals I really like skulls, it’s really interesting how they’re different from species to species and how tissue/fat/fur impacts the shapes of their heads.
human I’d have to say clavicle for individual. For a complete section of bone, spine pieces are cool. (Vertebrae C6 is a personal favorite. He’s just happy to be there)
honorable mention to whatever the forearm is doing.
