"Female" has a medical definition. You cannot identify as a biological sex. Calling FGM anything other than "Female Genital Mutilation" is silencing the women who combat it, and policing the language we use to tackle our own sex-based oppression in the name of trans women's identities.
I’m not getting into this. Respecting trans women as women does nothing to hurt the fight against such atrocities.
