Within the forest, dense within the trees and nature alike; she strung up objects for a makeshift target as if she was in the making of termination. Bow and arrow held in place as she took an aim and released, completing the drill in under a minute causing her to draw up another set of objects. Not good enough, I need to be faster. As she let go of the arrow, it had hit the object but it also pierced a deer that was wandering the area she was taken in. There was nothing that pierced her heart at the guilt but she did walk over to at least try and help the mammal but instead all she was left with was a face strained up with blood and a deer that laid to rest. Alynn you’re made to kill, not to save.
Gathering her bows and arrow together, she hooked it around her arm and left the area with silence as if she was trying to conjure up mother earth to settle the sins beneath her ground. Before she could take another step, footsteps were made causing the woman to hide behind a tree whilst her peripheral did all the watch but having seen nothing, she moved out from the tree and almost shot up from the sudden appearance of Kit. Masking expressions was rare and at this moment, she was skeptical of his being of being able to move past without her senses noticing. Not good enough. “Kit.” His name rendered off from her lips as she felt his hands come up to wipe the deer’s blood from her face that she solely forgot about. Coming into contact with skin to skin personnel on an intimate level was not her cup of tea but the mask was more important. While she let him do what he needed, she felt the need to explain, “I was practicing, hit an object then the deer was there, and I pulled it out to see if I could help but I couldn’t.” Such smooth words to alley the deer to peace, Alynn.
IT’S A PLACE OF PEACE AND THE UTMOST TREACHERY, the tress whispered their own stories of all the lost souls who walked among them. They never spoke during their lifetime, only watched as who knows what other type of creatures would roam their paths. He hadn’t planned on meeting her there, it was just that her scent wasn’t hard to catch and he wasn’t about to ignore it. He recognized it on the spot and the fact that blood was also in the air, only worried him a bit further. It wasn’t hers, he knew that much, still— no chances would be taken. All she told him was that the woods were a place for her training, a bow and arrow, right? A skill no one really needed but incredibly admirable nonetheless. Kit stepped past a clearing of trees, listening for any sounds that would direct him to his destination faster but it seemed silence had been conjured. Was she hiding? Ah, she probably didn’t know it was him. Of course, the girl needed to take precaution, especially from a man like him despite her not knowing the exact circumstances as to why. Even so, he treaded carefully, breaking some dead branches that stood in his way until the scent of blood could no longer be just a thought of the mind. The sight wasn’t uncommon, he would dig in if the girl wasn’t around or maybe hide it away somewhere, but he would do without scaring her. As soon as she stepped out from behind the tree, the wolf eyed her in silence, awaiting an assortment of questions or maybe the explanation she wasn’t doing so well on as it was.
“You’ve got to be more careful, I don’t think you can kill an animal here without a license. Who knows, I could blackmail you— I’m kidding. The crows’ll be coming around soon enough.”
