side story: X and Glitch (ch. 4)
X quietly opened the door to Lasan’s office using the pass code he was given by Faris. This was it, this was the day they were going to steal information.
This was probably going to be the most dangerous mission of their entire career. Lasan could be anywhere, but right now X’s map said he was three floors below, stationary. Probably talking to an employee. X moved further into the room, motioning for Glitch to follow, making sure no security traps were around to trip them up. Though clumsy on a normal day-to-day basis, he was pretty nimble when it came to sneaking around.
“You ready to do this? Hand on your guns,” he whispered back to his partner, looking at his screen closely. “I’m going to see if I can track the folders.”
Side Story: Glitch and X (ch. 2!!)
X sat at a table for two in the small cafe, twiddling his thumbs. He hoped that virus would keep their promise... he really, desperately needed that money. He’d also realized that he’d never introduced himself to that virus. Crap.
He was dressed in a sweater with a small X over the left breast, and wore baggy pants and loose, slip-on shoes, completely different than his work attire the virus had met him in. He just hoped he was recognized if they did come... then again, who wouldn’t notice and remember someone as bright blue as X was?
Praying he wasn’t tricked, he kept glancing to the door, and back to his thumbs nervously.
9: Break In
Fraud sat next to Faux, a screen pulled up in front of him, in his virus form. He’d sent Roxanne into the old, abandoned base, in hopes of her being able to infiltrate the lab.
He adjusted his headset and nodded at Faux, who was wearing a similar set. Both of them would be in contact with Roxanne as they guided her through this old dump in an attempt to get Fraud’s spyware into the main machine he was interested in.
“Testing the mic,” Fraud said, adjusting his screen so he could see Roxanne clearly. “Can you hear me, Roxy?”
New Faces, New Friends!
Chapter five here we go. Suni sat happily at the front desk keeping an eye on security, Aside from checking people in and out, that was her job, because she was the “fastest to react,” according to her co-workers.
She put on a pair of orange glasses so she could see better. She didn’t need them to write, but to keep an eye on things... long distance was hard.
It was boring, though, working here. Not as boring as her old job as working for a search engine... but still boring. She wanted to move like the antiviruses... or whatever, she knew she was the enemy now.
That made her sad.
At least her best friend was staying for the weak. Ste-- Fraud! Fraud, that’s what he wanted to be called now. Fraud... She thought that name didn’t suit him much, and was rather ironic, because the old him used to be so charismatic. So charming... and so genuine.
She leaned on the desk and sighed, hoping maybe someone would strike up a conversation with her...
You could change that.
Chapter 4, because why not?
It had been about a month since Fraud's murder. Roxanne had never truly recovered, and Finnick had watched her droop. Except today was different. For some reason, Lasan had sent them a private message asking them to come to his office for a meeting. He'd requested they dress formally for the matter, because it was an official event.
Finnick had managed to get himself into a tiny suit, but he was still trying to convince Roxanne to get out of bed. She sank into the routine of not leaving her bed unless she needed to eat or go to work. So there Finnick stood, shaking his partner gently. He still didn't understand why Fraud had effected her so much, when she stated clearly she was over him the day after his... reveal.
"Come on, Roxy... the meeting's in an hour! It's important..."
