             there’s a small, knowing smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she rounds the corner to see a sight she’d expected since leaving their quarters. francis has been tirelessly working on the boat for the past several days, and mary knows that if at any time she notices his disappearance, she’ll be able to find him right here. as she approaches, her hand reaches out to squeeze his shoulder gently, shaking her head with a teasing tone to her voice when she speaks once more.
