A letter flown to Ylisstol to Queen Robin, carefully bordered, smeared at the edges with traces of party glitter and smells faintly of lilacs.
To her Grace, Grand Tactician of Ylisse and Queen Consort to Lord Chrom,
I bring glad tidings; our journey to Regna Ferox was remarkably quicker and smoother than the last.
The border knights has had a new change of command since Midsummer, and they've gone above and beyond expectations, where efficacy is questioned. While it does unsettle me to a degree that the Feroxi barbarians have a sense of order and organization within their ranks, but thanks to their prompt response and tactical placement of healers, we've hardly anyone who lost their toes to frostbite. We've already had preperations of our own to prevent such a thing, but Ferox's cold is as unpredictable as it is harsh. A few words with the lesser warriors, and he said (while remarkably sober after seven flagons of mead) that their Knight-Captain anticipated a change in the wind, and mobilized more druids in the patrol.
The one who leads this unit is Knight-Captain Ceris Kearney of Northern Ferox. I know barely much of good lady, save for good words sung by her men; and that, I find to be strange for a Dark Knight. Considering that the Feroxi see strength of arm before anything else, and see magic as a resort of the weak, one ends up thinking of any unspoken accomplishments tucked underneath her shiny belt.
I can already hear your words of reassurance, that these are all nagging worries in my head, but they cannot be silenced.
The untamed are at their most frightening when they're organized.
Out of duty, I will not pursue the good lady, or pry at her secrets without provocation. Pray our alliance with them lasts, for I fear that talents that lie elsewhere may very well devour us when the tables turn. Until then, we continue our journey to Fort Qashliq.
Blessings to the Haildom,Yours in faith,Dame Rosaline.
