You flick this little switch off here - that’s your safety, and then give that trigger a good squeeze. Gun goes bang and the stupid motherfucker trying to get in your business is going to regret his life decisions.”

"A little bit, yeah."

Nollaig probably shouldn`t have said that - probably shouldn`t have called Simon an asshole either - , but she was only slightly regretting it. She had always preferred to be open with people before, to call it like she saw it - even if she did come across as a little crass. She had a hard time honing it back now.

She kept her eyes locked on the man while she waited for what came next. Was he going to shout at her? Had she fucked things up for the group that she had been staying with? How was Nollaig supposed to explain that one to them? She furrowed her brows, though, as Simon spoke again.

He doesn`t want to be an asshole. Is there any way he can turn this around? That certainly wasn`t what Nollaig had expected. She wondered if he was actually serious. She didn`t have the bollocks to ask, though, and instead she gave a small shrug, thinking of how best to answer his question.

"You mean, besides toning down the asshole-ry a little?" This time, she was kidding. Humour was the best form of defense mechanism sometimes - and Nollaig hoped that this was one of those times. Best to keep the conversation light, there was no need in causing an unnecessary argument. "I don`t know. I mean, I get that you guys are giving us protection and all - and we appreciate it, seriously," she insisted. "But clearly we aren`t getting protection for nothing - I mean, why would we? So it`s an equal thing."

"I guess it would be nice if it actually felt like that. Like we aren`t so beneath you guys - but hey, that`s just a suggestion."

“Well then call me a fucking coward” Olivia snorts at Sam’s response. She leans further back in her chair, legs crossing on top of the table.

Her eyes glanced up towards where Beth and Negan had disappeared to hours ago. “Either way, even if there wasn’t the whole possibility of getting my skull caved in, I’m not risking seeing those two together.” She shudders at the thought, as rough as Negan could be, he was like a father to her in many ways. Not to mention she’d grown particularly close with Beth as well. The thought of catching either one of them in any kind of explicit position was enough to make her stomach churn. Her machete is resting in her lap, where she’s currently trailing a finger up the center.

  “Could be kind of funny if I scared the shit out of them though…” she breathed out the last words thoughtfully.

Jace found himself crouching down ever so slightly to talk to the young girl - he had been told before that crouching down to someone else`s level was insulting , but he had never quite seen the issue. He eyed the thing that he had been talking about, even gave it a little kick with the toe of his boot - it wasn`t still breathing, thank god. And it wasn`t a duck either.

"Question everything, and trust no one. Something to live to by." Especially don`t trust anyone who believes they see ducks in the middle of nowhere. Reaching down to pick up the dead creature from before, Jace eyed it. It was some sort of rat or something - how he had assumed it was anything else was beyond him. It hadn`t been bit or anything either.

"Looks like dinner`s sorted."

“Baby girl, you think I’d take you somewhere that’s not safe?”

Negan smiles, all charm and sunshine, holding his hand out to help Beth up and over the busted lower stairs. The rest led up and up and up, spiraling above their heads into the darkness.

“C’mon, you’ll love the view.”

“Unfair would be letting your pretty little self prance off just because you happened to bat your eyelashes. Don’t need any of our other, de-light-ful prisoners thinking they can get away with kicking up shit just by looking cute.”

Reply accompanied small smile of amusement, and, despite the circumstances, Negan couldn’t help but feel the underlying HATRED in the air; he DID kill her husband so, hey, that was fair.

Didn’t mean he wasn’t actively regretting that, nor trying to ATONE for it ( time in that cell taught him the wrongdoings of his old ways the heavy-handed way ) .

“Am I allowed to inquire WHAT has the universe fucking with you?”

   She hated Negan with all the fiber of her being and yet there she was venting to him. It was weird, he killed her husband and hurt so many other people she loved. Why the hell was she venting to this asshole? 

A sigh escapes her lips as Maggie shakes her head. “Look around Negan. You killed my husband, the father of my child. My sister was killed, my dad was killed. I’ve lost everyone and here you are get to live.” She grew angry but knew there was nothing she could do. Not right now at least. “Here you are ruining my family. I’m talkin’ about Rick and the others all because you’re a greedy, no good motherfucker.”
