For Aelius and Vygarr, 'How do you deal with conflict and change? Are you passive or active when it comes to events happening around you? Would you rather avoid an uncomfortable situation or strive to make it better?'

Aelius - Would take a very passive role in events happening around him, he’s not one seek change no matter how uncomfortable the situation around him is. He wants to avoid it and all conflicts that might come out of it. He doesn’t do well under stress is what it is! It’s all good when training is just training but he could never go into battle. He’d freeze up and be cut down or trampled in the first few minutes and even conflict between others in the Legion…it was because he let it go on for so long that he finally snapped and ended up killing the man that teased him.

Vygarr - On the other hand would do everything in his power to change a situation he does not want to be in. I can’t say he would strive to make it better for all but he’d try and make it better for himself. He was once a clan leader before the Legion captured him and brought him so low and even though he hates what they make him do, he’ll be a champion in their fighting Pits. Knowing that if he fights well and wins enough he might one day be set free…he’s reluctantly learned that escape just isn’t going to happen.

So Vygarr’s the only member of my old lore that is still in my lair. No regrets though.

He’s a feral ‘barbarian’ chief who doesn’t speak their language and doesn’t understand the Legion’s ways. What he does understand is that he is trapped and that they make him fight and when he refuses he’s punished. He’s a pit fighter, he doesn’t get a choice in the matter. 

He was captured when they first moved to where they now reside and he hates them, one has only to look in his eyes to know that given the chance he’d rip out your throat. No effort is made in teaching him the language or customs, but he learns on his own. Vygarr listens and watches, he can now understand the basics of the language but keeps it to himself. He longs to escape and he longs for the wild. He misses his home in the Scarred Wastelands and he misses hunting on four legs. He’s been forced to keep a humanoid shape at all times now - he proved too dangerous and strong as a dragon.

Vygarr’s loneliness is almost palpable but he doesn’t try getting along with the other fighters. He resents how easily some accept this as their lot in life. He’s also wary and suspicious and he’s violent and will attempt to harm anyone that comes close enough to where he’s kept. But day in and day out he prays to both his gods and those of the Legion to help him - though neither answer. He wonders if he’s too far from home for his Gods to hear and if the Legion’s just doesn’t understand his prayers.
