Vyjack – multiple graded stakes winner and half-brother to Tepin – has officially been retired from racing and will transition off the racetrack at his breeder’s farm, Machmer Hall

The 8yr old gelding has had quite the career. He won the G2 Jerome and G3 Gotham at 3 on route to an unplaced effort in the KY Derby. As a 4yr old he won the G2 Kelso and at 6 he won the G2 City of Hope Mile while setting track record for 1 mile on the grass in 1:31.69 at Santa Anita.

Vyjack ran only twice at 7, finishing 2nd twice. All told he ran 31 times with an 8-7-3 record and $1.4 million in earnings.

Vyjack just dropped Wise Dan’s course record at Santa Anita winning the G2 City of Hope Mile in 1:31.69

I’m half expecting a world record to fall at the Breeders’ Cup - Santa Anita’s new turf is amazingly fast.
