VYMSPIRATION: Charles Busch (b. 1954) is a Tony-nominated playwright, actor, and female impersonator most well-known for his staring roles the film versions of his plays Die, Mommie, Die! and Psycho Beach Party. Throughout his career, Busch has both emulated and satirized the performances of Hollywood’s leading ladies from the 1930s/40s — with fantastically camp results! His long career as an actor/playwright spans from the early 80s (off-Broadway’s Vampire Lesbians of Sodom) to today and his performances mark the perfect marriage between elegance and vulgarity in some of the most delightful ways ever captured on screen.
