Acting Like It Matters

Night had fallen hard on Zootopia, cold winds swept snow through the city. Winter had hit the city hard and even the sahara district was struggling to keep the temperature above freezing. Through the snow and freezing winds a coyote bundled up against the cold trudged home from work.
Personally Tech liked the snow, it looked pretty and it was amazingly fun to play in. However.. The cold was not something Tech liked. It was an evil thing and any time he had to go to tundra town for evidence was a time he wished would pass.
Tonight saw the coyote ready to murder someone, far to cold and far to sleep deprived to deal with anyone. Which wouldn’t normally have been a problem, except that running into a polar bear and growling at him wasn’t the best response. One roar back and Tech realized it would probably be better for him if he ran.
Jumping was a more apt description of what tech did. The snow was to high for him to simply run and he kept bouncing above it to move through the snow ahead of the much larger bulldozer of a bear.
He slipped into an alleyway and threw himself through the first door that opened. This specific door leading to one of Zootopia’s last remaining theatres. He slammed the door behind him and turned to lean against it, coming face to face with a black rabbit.
