ngl after matpats inc/st encanto theory and his paw patrol theory I don't think matpat knows how media analysis works. for his encanto theory (putting aside the fact that it's absolutely fucking disgusting he would even SUGGEST THIS about a movie meant for kids, even more since he claims his 3 year old loves it) he doesn't pull ANY evidence from the movie itself (bc he can't). all of his "evidence" is from other sources, NOT the movie itself. Generally speaking, it's fine to pull from different sources to help explain/strengthen your point, but it CANNOT make up for having no actual evidence from the media itself. No the population number doesn't count bc there's no actual number + it's more world building than evidence.

with the paw patrol theory (this can also apply to encanto too) did he just... Not consider creators intent?? He says the trucks for the pups are obviously there to sell toys (which is fair) but why couldn't he expand that to the rest of the theory? like it's a show for preschoolers to help teach various things from jobs to how to help your community and more, why the fuck would they put death in it? Also rubble's badge and truck already existing is obviously to make the animation (and possibly the writing) easier. And the way he villianizes Raider like.... That kid hasn't even hit puberty.
