"I think about how we used to be growing up a lot, you know? And I worry you think maybe I grew out of you. I didn't, for what it's worth. You'll always be my friend. Dad didn't break his promise, when I begged him not to tell you how hard I cried when you moved too far away for me to ride my bike to come hang out. And then we graduated, and I stopped seeing you at school. You're still my friend, one of my best ones- I miss you, but I don't know how to bridge that gap, anymore. Do I just invite you over to play in the mud like we used to? we're in our 20s, we don't do that anymore- I don't like being a stranger to you, dude- I miss trying to climb the biggest tree in the family orchard."
"Lighting took it out last winter. I hope that's not an omen, for anything."
