There is a choice, but the answer has always been the same.

whoops it’s been longer than a week haha. 

i’ve finally started outlining and making character profiles, and with how close i am to my original goal, i’m considering upping my goal to 12k or 15k even. hmmm. if anyone wants to drop their favorite outlining methods, im curious. 

had some issues figuring out character motivations, and how to tie in shu to the main plot more since for most of the plot she’s separate from feng and min, and also kind of in a coma. her character arc so far seems to only start in part 3 so i’m trying to get her more involved. 

i really like mbti so mbti for my mcs are:

min - istj

feng - infp

shu - enfj

APRIL 2021 CAMP NANO WRAP-UP

There is only the sky and the earth and Min, eyes amber like lights in the depths of the sea, earthy skin and inky starspun hair and calloused hands. She tastes like seasalt and lotus seeds.

meant to type this up earlier but got distracted rip. all in all i suppose this was a decent run—managed to hit my goal, however disorganized my writing process and writing was (this is all literally just snippets i have like 2 scenes written chronologically) and figure out a bit more of this story. 

it’s changed a bit since the beginning, but there’s still a lot im iffy on and a lot of things im not happy with. not sure if i ever actually gave the title of this piece so the working title is currently wish!

secondary world fantasy inspired by china, xianxia/wuxia vibes (i am actually trying to incorporate tropes in those genres as i find them, not sure if this is xianxia or wuxia—probably very low fantasy sort of xianxia??) and also some orpheus & eurydice aspects too. got inspired to work on wish again (this was started sometime in late 2019) after watching the jiang ziya movie so you can see aspects of that in there too haha, as well as word of honor/shanheling. 

i was writing this without an outline—which lead to the introduction of new characters like An who i find myself really liking now actually but with no way to incorporate further (future spin-off? i hate that im already getting ideas haha)—so i might go back and actually plot now, while i work on my new short story, which is currently titled “bloom for a hundred suns.”

all in all a good time, i suppose.

CAMP NANO WEEK 1

The glint of moonlight on her horns, on her scales, makes her seem like she's nothing but silvered smoke.

She has part of his soul in her hands, and this is something he can't twist out of, can't weave illusions or clever words to escape from.

"Oh, little god," she said, an echo of the prayers in his ears, "Why don't you end it?"

couldn’t decide between my favorite line so we get 3 dgfhns. 

making decent-ish headway, although there’s only been like two seconds of plot in the snippets of scenes i’ve written so far haha. im still in genshin impact fever fdhjs. 

this is still the most ive written in a long while though, so im pretty happy. 

might actually up my goal (currently 10k) a little bit if i can keep this up. (only a bit though since i’m really terrible at consistency and don’t want to push my luck)

(also i swear there’s a wip intro for this in my drafts. i just. need to work on it.)
