¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It was a battle of wit,
Not a battle of fists,
Ending in blue bruises,
Or blood rubies in our spit.
I stumbled upon her lips,
As we fell onto my bed,
In my hair I felt fingertips,
Twirling through my head.
She said I’d be tempted,
And damn was she right,
I held her so close,
And she held me so tight.
She thought she had won,
But really we both knew victory.
We were burning of passion,
Smelling of burnt hickory.
Our fire burned brighter,
Our path was much kinder,
Now filled with flowers, not briers.

Watching with eyes like mine, it makes you wonder, what does it do to the mind?
I started trying to be a better person, to change, but somewhere along the line you started looking at me like that and I started hating myself for it.
Why do you keep telling me to fight when you’re telling me there’s no hope?
Every girl I’ve ever loved never stayed, that’s what I want to say when she asks why I’m afraid.
