Hornet Cosplay making part 2!
To finish the mask I used Mod Podge (matte jar), and then an acrylic white paint.
*Very important detail for cosplay making: Have a curious cat on duty to get in the way of things/watch in horror, or simply to judge you for your life decisions.
For the needle I used a little foam ring thing, some silver/metallic acrylic paint, some hard foam poster board, a dowel stick, some white duct tape, (I covered the foam ring in it to prevent it from breaking), some gorilla tape, and a bit of mod podge to make painting on some of the different surfaces more even.
Here’s my final result which I wore at Sakura Con in Seattle, WA!
For my cloak used a velvet like fabric to get the flowy affect. The the rest of the outfit is basically comfy clothes, i.e. black leggings, socks, some pointed flats, a pair of black gloves, and a black long sleeve shirt. The collar didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped but I actually didn’t make the cloak until the night before con, so I’d say for a last minute, all nighters work, it’s pretty good. All in all though, I’m happy with my final product. ^-^
