@alwaysxinxtrouble asked 💔 - How would your muse react to losing a romantic partner? How would they cope? (Wade, Bucky, Eddie)
I mean, not to be too dark about it, but if the plot of Deadpool 2 says anything about this it wouldn't go well. Wade would [redacted] any one who had anything to do with it, then he would try to [redacted] himself. (Then turn back time and go back to save his romantic partner?? We can only hope.)
Really though, I guess it would depend on the circumstances ... Does it call for revenge, vengeance, retribution, retaliation, violence, murder, or killing ? Because he will be finding out who had to do with it, and he will be murdering them to death. Honestly, even if someone had something to do with it, even something minor or just in Wade's eyes, he might go after them.
Coping would go horribly. I mean, hopefully he would find a reason to go on and wouldn't be consumed by revenge, self-destruction or depression. Hopefully.
Bucky would go still, numb, dissociative. He would disappear. Literally. Bucky would run, hide, and withdraw. He might vanish from the people who care about him. Because he’d feel like he’s become a danger or a burden again. Bucky already carries guilt for everything he did as the Winter Soldier. If his partner’s death was in any way connected to his past, his line of work, or even being near him he’d never stop blaming himself. He train to the point of injury or seek out danger as a form of self-punishment.
... if someone caused it to happen, he would definitely consider taking them out. I'm just saying. Might make for a darker turn in his path.
Bucky doesn’t let people in easily. If he loved someone enough to build a relationship, it meant they had reached the deepest parts of him. Losing them would feel like losing a piece of himself permanently.
That being said, Bucky is resilient. The healing would be slow, and he’d carry the loss, but he would get through it.
Eddie doesn't have a polished way of going about things. He would grieve hard. Probably openly, messily, and with his whole heart. He’d rage, cry, write songs, and probably fall apart more than once. That part of him that’s always felt like an outsider would flare up hard, feeling like he didn't deserve love.
He’d throw himself into writing and playing music HARD. He might spiral, unless someone checked in. He might try to act like he wants space, but the minute someone is there for him, he'll be clingy. He’d also hold onto the memory like something sacred. He’ll come out the other side changed, but still have heart.
