#apovember day 17: So, another "inspired by" post today. There was a scene during Wagner Reloaded where Apocalyptica were playing inside the jaws of a motherfucking dragon, and you can imagine how I reacted when I saw the magnificent bastard crawl out of the stage on opening night. My wildest dreams had come true, Apo AND a dragon!! 😍😍 As soon as I got back from Germany, I desperately wanted to get something like this out of my head, but I HATED the final result. I tried again, and that failed too. I never even shared that one. And I’ve been dreaming about trying again ever since. But looking through my old stuff for Apovember got me curious to see if I could tweak this in photoshop, and I’m more satisfied with it now. Today part 4/?? of my #ThankYouApo posts will be featuring @mikkosiren. I took this photo in Leipzig in 2014 and it's one of my personal favourites :3 As a musician I’d have to give him credit as being the first drummer that I ever really listened to. Like, REALLY listened to, and was captivated by. His open-minded approach to all genres has gained him seriously impressive skills from all areas, and so creates such unique, and imaginative sounds that is really perfect for Apocalyptica! This guy's middle name is versatility. Not to mention what an endlessly amusing entertainer he is, in the sense that he’s able to impress but also make a total arse out of himself for a laugh. As a person I’ve found Mikko to be really polite and accommodating, despite how cheeky we know he is. His sarcasm has given me so many laughs, my favourite being that time he claimed that in a drawing I had improved Paavo’s face XD But since I’m always saying about Mikko being self-deprecating, my all-time favourite memory with him has to be when my mum told him about a speech I made in Finnish, and I was so embarrassed I denied that I was a good Finnish speaker, so he said “See now who’s being self-deprecating??” and well… I needed that kick up the arse. XD So, thank you, Mikko!
