This is gonna sound weird, but I think ai art looks best when it's imperfect.
Like, there's something to be said about how an AI makes decisions to generate an image, and how it's flaws can reveal the programming flaws behind the veil, in ways that would be harder for a human to replicate. (Using Waifulabs as the example)
Like, the image on the left is how the program is meant to be used, and it does its job just fine, but the image on the right is more interesting to look at.
Something happened when rendering the right image, causing it to not resemble the anime characters it was supposed to replicate. It ends up catching the eye more than the mostly well done anime girl.
I don't think AI should ever be a full replacement for any art industry, but it's interesting to see how a tool like this can be "flawed" and in a way, still create something that's at least worth considering creatively.
