Ikigai - a reason for being ; the thing that gets you up in the morning.
“Koo!” The shiny Rowlet perched himself on a large rock just outside the opening to the cave. His trainer close behind, adjusting her frames to not fall off her face. She stared in awe of her surroundings. An entire clearing! Not one person around. Rockruffs playing in the grass with a day form Lycanroc watching closely. A family of Toucannon that had a nest on a ledge up along the wall of the area.
“So it says Ten Carat Hill was formed by an underwater volcano. It’s a popular destination to come relax and dig for stones, but Alola now prohibits just anyone coming in and taking the stones. This was where the first z-crystal was found and given to the first kahuna of Melemele. Isn’t this amazing, Rowlet? This place is so beautiful! It holds so much history. I totally need to pester Niwa about the history of Melemele. I only learned so much in school!” The young trainer held the book to her chest. Yes, she had a Pokedex, but Rotom dexes didn’t exist quite yet. “I can’t let us be the only ones enjoying it!”
Tossing up two pokeballs, a yellow Oricorio and a curved-tail Pikachu emerged, happily greeting their trainer. “Feel free to run around and make friends. I’ll get a picnic set up.” Himawari instructed, setting her bag down on a lower rock. Her Pikachu took off to play with the Rockruffs and Oricorio was mimicking movements of a Spinda.
As Himawari pulled out the last of her Pokemon food and worked on getting it portioned evenly, Rowlet fluffed up his green wings and took off towards another opening. Was it? It was covered but anyone could get in. Tilting his head, Rowlet landed and took a few small steps, poking his head inside. “Koo?”
