After everything that had gone on over the past week, the last thing Nick had wanted was to go to the gala and be around all of that so when he’d been talking to Luc about it, he was glad the other wasn’t going even if he wasn’t glad about the reasons why. But with them both not going, they’d decided to spend it together and were currently curled up on Luc’s couch, much as they had years ago as if they were back in high school, watching some movie they’d found. The past few days with Luc had brought up a lot of old feelings and memories, which Nick couldn’t help every so often steal a glance across to Luc rather than watch the film. @qvietwhispers
Blake had two reasons to be in Wakefield, get Robyn back home with him and get rid of Jinx but first he was focused on Robyn. He’d arrived at the gala in the evening and instantly went looking for her. Though she wasn’t hard to find and he’d waited until the woman with her, one he didn’t know, to disappear before he approached her. A hand snaking around her back and pulling her instantly closer with his hand gently but firmly on her side, holding her there. “Hello love.” He smirked as he leaned down and whispered in her ear. @qvietwhispers
Noah had made the rounds, talking to people he’d known most if not all his life while carefully avoiding both of his parents, especially after the election results were revealed. Still, he found himself drawn back to Aileen’s side periodically. “You look especially beautiful tonight,” he murmured, dipping his head to whisper the words in her ear.
TODAY IS THE DAY! OUR NEW MAYOR WILL BE ANNOUNCED & HAPPY 6 MONTHS!
Tonight Julie Pardo will step down as Wakefield’s mayor as she has been for the past year and a half, passing this title to one of our seven candidates who are in the running. Wakefield’s Founders’ Hall will be filled with the majority of it’s residents where food and drinks will be served. Various tables have been set out both inside and outside, which those outside surrounded with fairy lights strung through the trees.
Residents are encouraged to eat, drink and socialize from midday (9:30PM IST, 5PM GMT, 12PM EST & 11AM CST) when the event begins which all candidates were encouraged to arrive at this time in order to talk to residents, help with last minute setting up details and also talk to students from Wakefield Public School who were studying politics to help with their studies.
The day will proceed with candidates have the chance to make last minutes speeches (if they so wish) about how the campaign has gone, what they hope for Wakefield’s future, etc before the results are announced into the evening (2:30AM IST, 10PM GMT, 5PM EST & 4PM CST). After this the event will continue into the early hours of the next morning before people attending are told to go home.
Despite the event only running for half a day in character, there is no time limit for posting/wrapping up threads for this, just please tag all open starters or other event related posts with wakefieldevent02.

Julie Pardo has served as Wakefield’s mayor for the past year and a half and is now stepping down due to leaving town with her military wife and their two children to her wife’s new deployment. The mayoral race will run for the duration of the month [schedule will be posted below] with the mayoral gala taking place on the 30th April at the Founders’ Hall with the whole town invited to announce who has been elected.
HOW THIS WILL WORK:
From this time forward, characters can talk about the election and who they’d possibly like to see become mayoral candidates.
Members will submit NPC candidates from within the Wakefield community by the 9th April.
Once submissions have been collected, candidates will be announced on the 12th April and campaigning can begin. As of now, characters can discuss candidates and the campaigns.
Voting will take place between the 26th & 28th April. Voting can be done by characters dropping in their ballots (which would’ve been mailed out on the 12th to all residents) at the drop boxes located at Barclay town hall, Navarro library & Wakefield bank. Each character will get one vote which need to be submitted into the main.
The Mayoral gala will take place on the 30th April [which is also our 6 months anniversary!!] at the founders’ hall from 5PM GMT where the whole town have been invited to dress up, eat, drink, socialize and wait for the election results which will be announced at 10PM GMT. The party will then continue until the early hours of the morning.
