Good morning, it's Saturday & 4:30am!
Wanted to instill in my body the ability to wake up at 4:30am on a Saturday. Even if that means I go back to sleep for a few more hours in an hour or so. My partner and I stayed up until 1:00am, so I don't foresee myself being able to stay awake for long and definitely not work-out on 3.5 hours of sleep, but I wanted to make sure I kept a pattern of at least waking up at 4:30am everyday. Helps me better stay consistent and make time for exercise this early in the future (when I've had proper rest).
In the past I would sometimes stay asleep all day because I hadn't woken up to eat breakfast and drink some water. I figure if I do it now, I'll feel good enough to wake up later in only a few hours rather than sleeping in until 12pm or possibly 3pm.
Yesterday realized I have shin-splints. I still want to go for a walk-jog. Going to research how likely this is in case pushing through the pain creates an even longer set back through injury.
My general plan for the day is some light yoga to warm-up and stretch, weight training, some intense yoga and/ or pilates routine to strengthen my core and work at better balance, hoping to at least fit in a light afternoon/ evening walk with my partner.
I made yesterday, Friday, my active rest day since I had to stay so late at work (7:30am-7:00pm) and fitting in weight training felt depleting. I don't want to lose any gains I've won so far so an extra day of rest will hopefully better my muscle performance and gains.
Well I'm going to fiddle around on the internet, eat a light breakfast, drink a liter of water, perhaps do some light stretching, then lay back down for a few more hours.
