Waldo Wright’s Flying Service (http://www.waldowrights.com/), offers the unique experience of bringing the public along on barnstorming flights in vintage aircraft. Among their collection, they operate a 1931 New Standard D-25, which still serves the purpose that it was originally manufactured for: giving budding aviators their first taste of flight. One of 45 ever made, D-25 NC9125 is one of only 7 flying today.
I was privileged to fly with and photograph Rob Lock, AKA Waldo, as we departed the Orlampa Inc Airport in Polk City, Florida, for some low-level aviating. After a career as an NBA basketball player, Waldo now enjoys traveling around the country giving individuals a rare peek at the golden age of flight.
