Star symbol x all your muses
[ I sob because in no way would I ever be able to mention all my characters at once. I’ve had WAY too many over the years. (Almost 6 years of rping.) But how about this, I’ll mention 3 of my favourites, that sadly, I couldn’t get to rp for long. ; U ;
PREPARE FOR A VERY VERY LONG POST.
I’ll begin by introducing a world I have created, Erium. This planet was similar to earth, but it was in a different realm. A different time and space. It had its unique social structure, as well as ecosystem. There were three major social classes in that world: the mages, the warriors, and the normal people who would sometime hold exceptional powers, but that weren’t enough for them to be considered mages. A bunch of my characters at some point were natives of Erium, and who’d eventually travel through the portals to get to earth for one quest or another. I think I’ve had 6 characters in total that originated in Erium, but I’ll only speak about the Vandoms for the sake of this post.
When Lydia was a baby, her grandfather, a scientist mage, failed a horrible experiment that set fire to the whole house, and took the lives of her parents. Lydia almost died in the fire too, but her father managed to preserve her body, and connect her mind to a virtual reality that was almost identical to their world. Over the years, while Lydia’s body grew more and more, she also developed mentally by the interaction with virtual characters programmed by her grandfather. Yet her body was terribly affected by the residue of the fire, and it could be disconnected from all the support it continuously received.
The good side to all of this was, Lydia had 3 personalities residing in her body as a baby, and that wasn’t discovered until years later. To accommodate that, her grandfather sent in his oldest two creations to live with her. They acted as her older brother, and her younger brother, and absorbed these personalities from her. [Tbh I don’t remember all the details of how all that happened, and I lost my backed up USB with the info. OTL]
For 19 years, Lydia lived in the virtual world. Until her body had finally healed enough for her to reconnect with the real world. When she was reawakened, it was awfully difficult. Not in the sense that she was clumsy and sometimes carefree, but in how it felt as if she travelled to a distant nation, after losing her entire family and everyone she had known. She fell into severe depression.
During her state of depression, she resorted to painting to relieve herself. That’s when she discovered she had the power to jump into paintings. Her paintings were alive, she merely needed to touch them, for her to enter the worlds she had created.
[Now there’s a gap in the storyline here that I have forgotten tbh. orz]
Eventually, her grandfather decided to bring the two other personalities [aka her brothers] to life. He had been working for years to create bodies to host the two programs. Also, after absorbing the personalities Lydia had, they… in a way, became more and more human.
By the use of magic, and technology, he implanted a microscopic chip in each of the bodies, and Lydia was reunited with her brothers once again.
However, in a way… because of how they originated, their lives depended on her. They needed to somehow separate that bond a bit for each to become a full human being. The first manmade human beings. [And not in the typical biological means.] The pride of the grandfather. And that’s why they were sent to earth. Only the three of them. Each on a quest to free himself or herself from the thing that governs her existence.
Now in terms of personalities, I’ll first introduce the brothers:
He was the oldest brother. In reality, he was the grandfather’s oldest experiment. He had lived 40ish-50ish years before being placed in the vessel that of a boy in his early twenties. He is the responsible one out of the three Vandoms, and the most rigid. He was a man of leadership, but not very open minded. Very very judgemental, and generally appeared to be grumpy or pissed off 24/7. Rarely smiled or displayed affection openly. Had high ambitions but was also very cautious and calculating. Very analytical. Very organized and obsessive with accuracy in everything. Interested in people’s behaviour (but awfully judgemental of it too.) Unintentionally sarcastic, and blunt in most cases… but he has learnt to control that a bit. He acts as the guardian of the family, and nothing is more important to him than keeping them safe… despite how his personality failed to show so many of the times. He was also the one out of the three who was interested the most in the sciences of the universe, with a particular interest in astronomy. He spent most of his time in his lair, [aka the basement of their house] experimenting and researched, or in the tower [aka the most elevated place in the house] to observe the stars and planets.
He was the youngest brother. He was a child trapped in the body of a 17 year old boy. Although in reality, he has existed for over 20 years before being placed in his human vessel. Awfully childish, yet with the IQ of a prodigy. Very mischievous with a love for pranks. Carefree, flexible, lighthearted, expressive despite his lack of experience with typical human emotions, (which was the base of his quest tbh.) and awfully attached to his sister. He was pretty much the opposite of Zenith. He was very sociable, with a continuous desire to explore and learn. He was also brutally blunt, the way a child would be.
Now in terms to Lydia’s personality, she was a shy, awfully kindhearted girl. She was the keeper of the hearth. Quite introverted, awkward and timid. She lacked the bravery that was exaggerated in her youngest brother, and was sensible in her oldest. She was the peacemaker between the two brothers when there was any conflict. Out of the three, she’s the most balanced, with only her poor social skills being the problem.
All the information mentioned thus far is background info that took place prior to when I began to rp them. When I started to rp them, they had landed in Kyoto, in the backyard of the house that was prepared for their arrival.
Both Parker and Zenith are unnaturally smart due to the computer chip that held their being in their bodies, because before absorbing Lydia’s personalities, they were mere computer programs. Parker had no problem revealing just how much of a genius he was, Zenith was more careful about letting others sense that.
Parker and Zenith had some unnatural physical strengths too, like Parker could run at very high speeds, and Zenith could break really tough objects with his bare hands.
The house they lived in, in Kyoto appeared from the outside like any other house, but that’s due to a magical spell cast on it. It had mazes and towers and locked doors and it was a world of its own on the inside.
Lydia was a mage, and part of her quest was to learn to control all of her powers. [Aka along with her painting power.]
Lydia had naturally really deep blue hair and I forget the colour of her eyes tbh. Zenith had pitch black hair but one green eye and one blue eye. Parker had burgundy hair and yellow eyes. [or maybe burgundy eyes… don’t remember…]
Each of the three wore a piece of magical gadget that they’d never take off. Sometimes they’d wear it as a necklace, bracelet or ring. This gadget replaced so many things of regular tech. It was a phone, internet surfer, but also notified the other two if one is in danger. It also kept track on their bodies, in the sense that… if Parker and Zenith didn’t complete their quests before the timer is up, they’d die. When all three pieces are connected, the portal to Erium can be opened.
Zenith and Parker have to drink this elixir every once in a while to keep their bodies alive. Each was given 3 vials to sustain them on their quests on earth. If one runs out of the elixir before completing his quest, he will die.
Also, if one of the three failed to complete their quests, Zenith and Parker will die, and due to their tight connection to Lydia, she will die too. Aka… they all have to work together.
Parker adores oranges and orange juice, as well as taiyaki.
Zenith was the only one that drove, not because Parker couldn’t, but because Zenith didn’t trust him enough. [Even though, Parker’s brain is like a computer’s, and will function like one when driving.]
Zenith’s words were orders. If he forbade one of them from doing something, it was as if the head of the family has forbade them, and they generally abided… generally… Parker broke more rules than one could count, and he would sometimes convince Lydia to join him, but without his influence, Lydia would always listen to Zenith.
Technically, Zenith and Parker are both much older than Lydia, but due to their mental ages, they were each given a vessel that resembled that of an older brother and a younger brother.
Parker likes when Lydia reads him stories. Her is very attached to her and always likes to keep her happy.
Zenith wasn’t always grumpy, as Parker keeps reminding him. But he’s been like that since he was transferred from the virtual world. His OCPD increased exponentially as well.
He always advises Lydia against hanging out with “Parker-like people.”
When they first landed on earth, their wardrobes were entirely different. [mostly steam-punk like clothing.] And it took them a while to get used to the general attire they found. As well as the food. oh and… the difference in gravity.
Back in Erium, the gravity is different, so everything seemed a lot lighter, and one could jump to much higher distances.
When they moved, Parker was enrolled in high school, and Lydia and Zenith in university. Parker though… went to school for the sake of socializing and nothing else, because he could easily download the text and info unto his system and ace all tests.
Parker and Zenith could connect their minds to the internet, making it very easy to search up anything on the spot. when that happened, little blue circles appeared around their pupils.
Anyway… I should probably stop here… XD
