I like your long neck! | Giraffe House, Wildlife Awareness Centre.
This name can make you wrong. It’s not only a park with giraffes, but a bunch of different species of animals like zebras, ostriches, crocks, and different kinds of monkeys on a 15 ha field. The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre lies 30 minutes of drive from Cape Town, so if you live near this area, I recommend you to visit this stunning place. For educational purposes, there are boards with information about every animal in the House. As organizers wrote on their official internet page "Most of the animals at Giraffe House form part of our wildlife education program. The giraffe, for instance, is the tallest land animal on earth, the eland is the biggest antelope, the blue duiker the smallest antelope, and ostrich the biggest bird".
Apart from the animals, accessibility is important from my perspective. There are roads for tourists inside the park but there are still bumps, roads are sandy and rocky and that can be a problem for wheelchair users. It is similar to South African trips like Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, and Drakenstein Lion Park. It allows visitors to see in real-life stunning wildlife/nature, but in the same time lack of good infrastructure or just specifics of any place cancels part of society from enjoying tourism. In some parts of park there are pavements, but there is also some bumpy terrain.
