A tile belongs to a manufactured piece of hard - wearing material like ceramic, stone metal, baked clay or even glass. The tile is normally utilized for casing roofs , floors , walls or other objects. As per construction requirements, different sizes and shapes of the tiles are found.

Wall Area: The calculation is done based on the following dimensions -
Size of the bathroom is taken as 7 x 6 feet Height of the bathroom is taken as 9 feet The size of each tile is assumed as 30 x 30 cm The size of the door is taken as 3 x 7 feet
The following formula is used for the calculation :- Wall Area / Area of tiles
Therefore, it is required to work out the area of wall initially as follow :- Area of wall = Length x Height Total length of the walls = (7 x 2) + (6 x 2) = 14 + 12 = 26 feet [for both side walls] Area of wall = Total length of walls x Height of the wall = 26 x 9 = 234 sq.ft
Method of Concrete Slump Test:
Area of the door = 3 x 7 = 21 sq.ft Total wall area = Wall area – door area = 234 – 21 = 213 sq.ft Area of one tile = 30 x 60 = 1800 cm2 After converting the measuring unit to square feet, we get 1800/1000 = 1.8 sq.ft So, the number of tiles = Total wall area /area of each tile = 213/1.8 = 118 So, the numbers of tiles necessary for the bath room = 118
Floor Area Suppose, the size of the floor = 11 x 10 = 110 sq.ft Size of each floor tile = 60 x 60 cm = 3600 cm2 = 3.6 sq.ft (after converting to sq.ft) So, the numbers of tiles required = Floor Area / Area of each tile = 110 / 3.6 = 30.5 tiles = 31 tiles
Therefore, total numbers of tiles required = 31 numbers
