How to Wallpaper Around Trim
Just got a few hand-drawn wallpapers for your walls but don’t know how to fit them around the windows or doors? Fitting a wallpaper around the windows and doors is certainly not an easy task. But with the following techniques, you can accomplish it easily.
* Allow the wallpaper or wall mural to overlap or hang over the trim.
* Expose the door or window by cutting the wallpaper panel a bit but allow approx. 2 inches to overlap the trim.
* Find the corner of the door frame or window by touching the wallpaper and cut the wallpaper from the corner towards the edge at an angle of 45°.
* Take a utility knife and carefully cut the excess wallpaper around the edges by pressing it to the trim.
* Wipe all the excess glue may have left on the trim.
* If required, you can also apply the wallpaper above and below the door frame or window. Make sure the design or pattern matches the wallpaper on the side.
* Repeat the previous steps together to finely get the edges on the remaining sides of the frame.
Options: Wallpaper may get off from the edges in the future so you can place a transparent guard on the corners. Ask for plastic guards for wallpaper from any local hardware store.
